do we always use full power on this flash ? on what occation do we need to fired at full power?

I am a bit new to all of this. But here is the way I would look at it:

The power that your flash is at is dependent on ambient lighting, aperture and distance of the model.

If something is really close in a brightly lit room then your flash would not need to be fired at full power (or at all). As the distance increases, aperture increases or the ambient light drops then your flash has to be fired at higher powers.
