May I ask why the full review isnt finished yet? Almost 6 months has passed and theres no information on the review yet on these parts,

coming soon:
-E-TTL Performance & Exposure Quality
-Flash Sync Modes
-Other Features
-YN-565 Review Conclusion

I hope this will be completed. I already have the yn-565 but it would still be helpful if this review is finished as I am not that knowledgeable in testing the flash extensively like you can.

Excellent compatibly table. I have eos 5dmk1 and using in manual mode with metz flashes. Earlier, I picked YN 468 which died after three hundred clicks and no authroize repair here Lahore-Pak and lying paperweight. My question is as asked by Tim above its compatibility with eos 5dmk1. In the table it is question mark(?) against 5d. Will appreciate comments if my colleague is using YN 565 in all mode of 5d(i), its performance, durability, and ultimate goal of results.

The YN-465 flash works with the Canon SX20 IS. I bought one for my sister and tested it.

Cheers,

Excellent review. I have eos 5d mk1 and using in manual mode with old metz flashes. Earlier i picked YN 468 after reading review on your site but unfortunately it died after three hundred click and no authorize repair here in Lahore, Pakistan. Canon own speed lite are expensive and hesitant to pick YN-565 due to earlier critical experience. On some reviews/posts it is not mentioned full compatible with eos 5d mk1. Will appreciate comments on its compability, durability, build and its performance in all modes of 5d.

i spent a bit more time on LX5 and YN560 and was able to make it work consistently on S2 when the shutter speed is faster than 1/80.
When the shutter speed is lower than that only S1 works. Will be helpful if someone could share similar experience.
cheers

Just wanted to follow up on the warranty repair of my 468 V1. The manufacturer did the repair and returned it well packaged. They did not deal with the incorrectly aimed IR assist light, and they charged me shipping both ways (this may have been because I bought from a different retailer. Or not). Shipping cost about $50 total, and would have been over $100 if I had followed their instructions for a trackable shipment.

My conclusions are that they make a decent product which may or may not last, but I would encourage any potential purchaser to either ensure that shipping is covered for warranty repair (as does Gadget Universe for their Cactus triggers), or buy from a US retailer where return shipping would be reasonable.

i agree with fransener, i have YN465 too, and the build quality is far much better than YN560. YN560 head keep rotation when you put small monicah beauty dish on it. I have lost confidence with YN560..

Hi,

I just bought some units of YN560s. 2 of them are unmutable; 1 of them have broken sound; I dropped one of them from 12 inches after 2 days use, and the hotshoe separated from the body. Any guidance to fix them back?

Well, after playing with it I must confess this is a GREAT flash.
I´m not really an expert in flashes but I can tell you that for 120 Euros you will get a really nice product.

I have use it mainly on TTL mode with my D40X + Sigma 18-200 OS HSM // Nikon 50mm 1.8g, and the portraits are really nice. I have tested it with ISO 100 and 200mm focal lenght at 6-7 meters and the scene was perfectly iluminated. I have also played with it on manual mode and it is really powerfull at maximum power.

It is a bit heavy, but nothing extreme. The construction seems very stable and the plastic quality is on average.

I really recomend it. I´m really happy with it, my interior pictures are now completely different, much better lightes than with my built-in flash of course. The portraits with the flash at 45º with white card extended are very nice, the whole scene is iluminated, not only the subject.

Specs are equal to Canon model, so check the Canon model review of this model and you will have the same on Nikon version.

Hi Yosri! The first gen YN-460 had the slave sensor inside the actual flash head - behind the fresnel lens even. Newer models have it beneath the red plastic cover on the front of the body (not the head anymore), and that's obviously much better. YN-460-II has it on the body too.
